Many conditions can present with symptoms resembling those of Reye syndrome that include lethargy, confusion and vomiting most commonly. Aspirin use in children is related to this syndrome. In Lahore and all over Pakistan, all the drugs are over the counter and you can buy any drug without prescription from a doctor by paying for them at the medical stores, so these cases are not uncommon in Pakistan and we should be able to deal with them appropriately. Following cases must be kept in mind that resemble Reye's syndrome:
Conditions with no liver function loss
1. Encephalitis
2. Psychiatric illness
3. Diabetes mellitus
4. Poisoning
5. Meningitis
6. Drug overdose
