What are the risk factors of amblyopia?

A state of decreased visual acuity without any apparent defect that cannot be corrected with lenses is called amblyopia. About 2% of the population suffers from this condition. Risk factors of amblyopia include:

1. Myopia
2. Hyperopia
3. Astigmatism
4. Visual pathway defect
5. Cataract
6. Corneal opacities
7. Other conditions causing anisometropia
8. Amblyopia in family
